Dr. Jan Oudenes was born in The Netherlands, where he received a B.Sc. and a M.Sc. from The University of Leiden. In 1979, he received a Ph.D. from the University of Alberta, Canada in the field of organometallics. This was followed by a postdoctoral fellowship at the Federal Institute of Technology in Zürich, Switzerland.

Dr. Oudenes is a pioneer of contract process development services for early phase emerging pharmaceuticals. During his career, Dr. Oudenes was personally involved in developing approximately 150 compounds for (pre)-clinical applications as well as in establishing manufacturing positions for newly commercialized products with an annual pharmacy retail value exceeding $1 billion.

Recently Dr. Oudenes founded Alphora Research Inc., a new company, which is involved in basic process research and technology of pharmaceuticals. The company has established a team of scientists and engineers, research and kilo laboratories and is currently executing plans for the construction of a pilot plant facility.
